Orchestra
Stable 39 musicians make up the University Orchestra, founded in 1982. Thousands of visitors have marveled at the perfection of their performances. If in 2008 the average people coming to the concerts was 376, in 2011 it rose to 695, a remarkable 84 percent increase. Usach Orchestra concerts are also broadcast by the University Radio.
Syntagma Musicum
One of the most outstanding baroque music groups of the continent, created in 1978. It consists of six musicians specialized in historical instruments of the 16th and 17th centuries. This group, led by Alejandro Reyes, has performed at the University and other places with great acceptance by the general and specialized public.
Choirs
Under the names "Madrigalista" and "Choir of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile ", it has become an essential example in the world of music and beautiful singing. The Madrigalista, created in 1980, is made up of 12 professional singers and is conducted by Rodrigo Diaz. The University´s Choir, on the other hand, was founded in 1956 and is currently led by Santiago Marin; 50 voices, including professionals, students and workers participate.
